How Much Does Bed Bug Treatment Cost in Essex?
Bed bug treatment is priced by the number of rooms treated, so you can work out the cost before anyone calls round. Here is the full list and what it includes.
Finding bed bugs is stressful enough without a vague quote on top. Pricing should be clear, and it should depend on something you can count: the number of rooms that need treating.
Bed bug treatment prices by room
Essex Pest Solutions prices bed bug treatment by the number of rooms treated, with no VAT added:
- 1 room: £295
- 2 rooms: £395
- 3 rooms: £495
- 4 rooms: £595
- 5 rooms: £695
- 6 rooms: £795
- 7 rooms: £895
- 8 rooms: £995
- 9 rooms: £1,095
Each extra room adds £100. For nine rooms or more, call us for a quote, because larger properties need a closer look.
What is included
A follow-up inspection two to three weeks after the first treatment is included in the price. That visit matters, because bed bug eggs can be hard to reach and a second look confirms whether the problem has cleared. Whole-property treatments also come with a three-month guarantee.
Spray or heat
Treatment is by spray, heat, or both. Heat can be a good option where there is a lot of furniture or where chemicals are a concern, but it is not right for every home. We choose the method after talking through your property with you, and we confirm the price before any work begins. You will not be surprised by a change on the day.
How many rooms will I need treated?
Bed bugs gather near where people sleep, so the bedroom is the starting point. They can spread to nearby rooms, particularly a sofa where someone dozes or a spare room off the same landing. When you call, describe where you have seen bugs, small dark spots on bedding or bites. A technician will help you work out how many rooms are likely to need treatment, and the inspection will confirm it.
If you notice bites, we cannot diagnose them, as many things cause itchy marks. A pharmacist or GP can advise on skin irritation. A technician can confirm whether bed bugs are actually present.
How to prepare and keep the cost down
Preparation helps the treatment work and avoids delays. Typical steps include:
- Strip the beds and bag the bedding, then wash it hot if the label allows.
- Clear clutter from the floor and from around the bed, so surfaces are reachable.
- Do not move items to other rooms, as this can spread the problem.
- Vacuum the mattress and bed frame, then empty the vacuum outside into a sealed bag.
We will give you any extra instructions when you book.
What happens on the day
The technician starts by inspecting the rooms you have named, looking at the mattress seams, bed frame joints, headboard and nearby furniture. They then explain what they have found, confirm the method and the number of rooms, and carry out the treatment. Allow some time for the work, and ask about when it is safe to return to the rooms and when you can sleep in them again. You will be told what to expect before the follow-up visit.
Why cheap quotes can cost more
A very low price for a single visit can look attractive, but bed bugs are persistent. If there is no follow-up and no guarantee, a second treatment can end up costing more than doing it properly once. Check what a quote includes before you compare numbers.
