Flea Control

How Much Does Flea Control Cost in Essex?

Flea treatment in Essex is priced by the number of rooms treated, starting from £295 for one room. Here is how the cost is built up and what you get for it.

Fleas are one of those problems that feel small until you realise how quickly they spread through carpets, bedding and furniture. When people ask what flea control costs, they usually want a straight answer before they let anyone into the house. This guide explains how our pricing works, so there are no surprises on the day.

How flea treatment is priced

We price flea treatment by the number of rooms treated, not by the size of the house or how bad the problem looks. A single room is £295. Two rooms are £395, three rooms are £495, four rooms are £595, and each extra room after that adds £100. The price is fixed and quoted before work begins, with no VAT added on top.

  • 1 room: £295
  • 2 rooms: £395
  • 3 rooms: £495
  • Each additional room: £100 more

For larger homes with many rooms affected, call us and we will confirm the figure over the phone after a few questions about the property.

Which rooms actually need treating

Fleas are not confined to the room where you first notice them. Pets move around, and adult fleas lay eggs that fall off into the places your animal rests. Larvae then settle deep in carpet fibres, floor edges and soft furnishings. As a rule, a room needs treating if it has been used by a pet, if you have been bitten in it, or if you have found fleas or flea dirt there.

Typical rooms are the living room, the bedroom where a pet sleeps, hallways and stairs. Bathrooms and kitchens with hard floors are often left out, which keeps the cost down. When we visit, we look at where the activity is and agree the rooms with you before any work starts.

What is included

The price covers the professional treatment of the agreed rooms, and our flea control service comes with a 3-month guarantee on whole-property treatments. We are fully insured and discreet, so there is nothing on the van or the paperwork that tells the neighbours why we are there.

It is worth knowing what the price does not include. We treat the property, not your pets. Your cat or dog needs a vet-approved flea treatment at the same time, otherwise they can bring fleas straight back in. A vet or pharmacist can advise on the right product for your animal.

Preparing so the treatment works first time

A little preparation protects your money, because a treatment can only reach surfaces that are clear and accessible. Before we arrive:

  1. Vacuum carpets, rugs, sofas and the edges of rooms thoroughly, then empty the vacuum outside in a sealed bag.
  2. Wash pet bedding, throws and bed linen on a hot wash if the label allows it.
  3. Clear floors of toys, clothes and loose items so the treatment can reach the carpet.
  4. Arrange for children and pets to be elsewhere while we work, and follow our advice on when it is safe to return.

Why waiting usually costs more

Fleas breed continuously while the house is warm. A problem in one room can become a problem in three if it is left for a few weeks, and because the price rises with the number of rooms, early action is the cheaper option. Repeated rounds of shop-bought products that do not clear the eggs often just delay the inevitable.

If you also have another pest issue, such as ants or wasps, mention it when you book. The code TWOPESTS takes £50 off a second pest treatment on the same visit.

Getting a firm price

We are based in Chelmsford and cover Essex. Call 01245 830842, tell us how many rooms are affected and whether you have pets, and we will confirm the price before booking. If you are bitten and are worried about your skin, see your GP or a pharmacist for advice on the bites themselves.

In short: Flea control in Essex costs from £295 for one room, rising by £100 per extra room, with a fixed price agreed before any work and a 3-month guarantee on whole-property treatment.

Frequently asked questions

How much does flea treatment cost for a whole house?

It depends on rooms treated, not the house size. One room is £295, two are £395, three are £495, and each extra room adds £100. Most homes only need the rooms pets and people use.

Do I still need to treat my pet?

Yes. We treat the property, so your cat or dog should be treated at the same time with a product recommended by your vet or pharmacist, or fleas can be brought back in.

Is the price fixed?

Yes. We agree the rooms and the price before work starts, and there is no VAT added. Whole-property treatments carry a 3-month guarantee.
