The price

Squirrel control costs £340, whether the property is a flat or a house. There is no VAT added, and the figure does not change depending on how many visits it takes. Follow-up visits are included, as is advice on proofing your home so the squirrels do not get back in.

That matters because squirrel problems are rarely solved in a single trip. Access points need to be found, activity needs to be monitored, and the entry holes need to be dealt with at the right moment. Charging per visit would make the job unpredictable, so we do not.

Signs you have a squirrel problem

Squirrels are active by day, which separates them from rats and mice. The sounds tend to be heavier scampering, scratching and thumping in the roof space in the morning and late afternoon. Other signs include chewed wood, torn insulation, gnawed pipes or cables, and nesting material in the loft or in a soffit.

Chewed cables are a particular worry because of the risk to the electrics. If you suspect wiring has been damaged, have an electrician check it, and avoid using affected circuits until they have.

Why proofing matters

Removing the squirrels without closing the entry points just invites new ones. They are agile and persistent, and a gap under the eaves or a loose tile is enough.
